In early September, members of the department responded to the 4600 block of College Avenue near the intersection of Princeton Avenue, where a student reported that she had been inappropriately touched.

According to police, at around 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, the female student reported to investigators that she was walking along College Avenue when a man approached her and began asking questions.

During that interaction, it is alleged that he touched her inappropriately before running down the roadway onto the hiker biker trail.

The suspect was described by his victim as being a Hispanic man with straight black hair who was around 5-foot-6 or 5-foot-7. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black shirt and red joggers.

It remains under investigation by the University of Maryland Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or incident has been asked to contact the police by calling (301) 405-3555.
